Posted: 1 year ago - Dec 18, 2024well charlie went to the vet last week everything went well, she did wonderfully i cant brag on her enough.... we got her started back on her meds, haloperidol 2 mg and an anti biotic , he weight was a bit concerning 348 grams.....what i learned yesterday it was bothering me because they didnt giv me much of a back story on her all i knew was she was 12 years old, she was a dnad female and had been picking the whole time she was at the sanctuary and a vet owned her before hand and didnt have time for her and donated her there she was there 8 yearsi felt that wasnt enough, so yesterday i contacted the vet she saw while there at the sanctuary and asked for her medical records for the vet shes seeing now she is not 12 shes 17 years 6 months, she started picking 4 months ago because she started laying eggs and they wouldnt allow her to sit on them, and was housed in an out door aviary with several other birds she was fed seeds and nuts and four months ago when she started the picking and was taken to the vet she weighed 260 grams, so now i have her in a cage by herself with toys and the such im planning to upgrade for christmas she is being free fed pellets and chop she loves cooked sweet potatoes, she spends her day out of the cage usually with me the 348 gram was concerning to me so i have ordered a scale it will be here tomorrow
